ICON 15- Were You There?

Infusionsoft’s Conference with Experts and Acheivers

Lights glittered the stage and music boomed from large speakers. It wasn’t a rock concert-it was the ICON conference. Infusionsoft gathers great thought leaders and the community each year in Phoenix for their annual ICON conference.

Looking around the fully packed conference I immediately saw some people in the room I knew. In this blog I’ve asked them to share what they enjoyed about ICON and what they learned.

Favorite Session: Reinventing Your Ideas: Why Little Things = BIG Results by Johnny Cupcakes (Earle)

Earle is what every Millennial wishes they are; creative, unique, and seeking something greater than a paycheck. His story and business is all about being pragmatically creative (and funny). He didn’t bore with clichéd “feel good” examples, instead his examples made us feel good because he was honest about what it takes to succeed doing something even as zany and original as his business.

Favorite Session: How To Fascinate: From First Impressions to Lasting Value by Sally Hogshead

My favorite session was Sally Hogshead.  I’ve seen Sally Hogshead before at a presentation at the NSA Convention.  I loved hearing the Personality Archetypes again. A refresher never hurts. And her stories of the innovative and envelope pushing strategies to get her clients noticed.  I love stories of fearlessness and risk taking.

Favorite Session: Essentialism and the Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown

McKeown focused on the essentials of having an impact on work. He challenged the audience to get more focused, slow down and be thoughtful. By offering up questions like “Who am I when I’m at my best?” and “What is the priority personally and professionally for the next 90 days?” McKeown brought up ways that we as business owners can pursue a more simplistic and thoughtful work life.

Favorite session: All of it!

It’s difficult for me to pick just one session that was a favorite.  I was able to gain insight from every session I attended.  Even the general sessions held amazing nuggets of information and in turn the entire conference culminated in one big dose of inspiration!  The conference kicked off with the message “Small business is a big deal”, and that just propelled me forward from there.

ICON was awesome. Did you attend? What was your favorite session?
